The Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, HRM Dr Oba Oluwole Ademolaju has appealed to the indigenes and residents of the town to continue to live in peace.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oba Ademolaju made the appeal during 2025 Oye Day celebration and launching of N500 million Community Development Fund held on Saturday in Oye-Ekiti.


The traditional ruler who was represented by Eleegbo of Oye-Ekiti, High Chief Vincent Fadugba, said he was unable to attend the ceremony as result of the sudden death of his wife.
Oba Ademolaju urged youths of the community not to indulge in crimes and thuggery which could jeopardize their future.
He appealed to them to celebrate in a modest manner and drink responsibly.
Similarly, the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, High Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, said Ilodo community was selected to host the 2025 Oye Day celebration and they embrace the decision wholeheartedly.
Oguntoyinbo urged indigenes of the town to embrace peace and shun backstabbing, hatred and malice which could hinder the development of the town.
The traditional chief urged his people to support the administration of the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji.
He charged the security agencies to be security conscious and be proactive in monitoring the nooks and crannies of the town.
“I want to passionately appeal to all sons and daughters of Oye Kingdom to embrace peaceful coexistence.
“There is no gain in conflict with ourselves, it always retard the development of the community.
“I also want to appeal to all our security agencies to be proactive in helping us to safe guard our communities from invasion by unknown hoodlums,” he said.
Obalodo promised to always support the the President of Oye Progressive Union(OPU),Barr. Dare Owolabi and his executive members.
To add glamour to the event, Oguntoyinbo, on behalf of his family and Ilodo community donated a sum of N5 million to the development of the town.
In the same vein, Sen. Ayo Arise, urged the indigenes of the town both home and abroad to contribute to the development of the community.
Sen. Arise assured the indigenes of the town that he would continue to promote the development of the town.
He promised to donate a sum of N5 million to the development of the community.
“To further contribute to the development of Oye Kingdom, I will donate a sum of N5 million.
“I am still going to do more but for now, I am giving what I can afford currently to promote our dear fatherland,” he said.
Also, the President of Oye Progressive Union (OPU) Barr. Dare Owolabi commended the numerous contributions of the sons and daughters of Oye Kingdom.
Owolabi thanked Sen. Ayo Arise for bringing the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti(FUOYE ) to the town and also commended Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Oguntoyinbo for his numerous support for the union.
NAN reports that aside from the donations from Obalodo and Sen. Arise, Dr Bosede Osamaye, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ondo state who is also a daughter of Oye-Ekiti donated N500,000.
Similarly, FUOYE management donated a sum of N3.1million and the Royal Father of the celebration, Oore of Otun-Ekiti, donated N500,000 to the development of the community.
