Distinguished guests, mothers and fathers of Ekiti, members of the press, ladies and gentlemen.
Today, as we celebrate Ekiti’s iconic women who are proudly excelling in their professions, we have every reason to give thanks to Almighty God for His mercies upon Ekiti State this year.
First, we mark the 140th Anniversary of the Ekiti Parapo War of Liberation in the 19th century, the war that brought unity and progress to Yorubaland.
Second, Ekiti State itself clocks 30 years since its creation by the military government.
Third, our visionary Governor, His Excellency Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, BAO, has successfully completed his first term in office and is set to begin a second term.
Fourth, Kayegbo Media Outfit, publisher of Kayegbo Publications, is also celebrating 30 years of consistent service to Ekiti State.
In this same spirit, the Editorial Board of Kayegbo Publications is using this milestone to honor 30 Ekiti Iconic Women. They are led by Her Excellency, Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, First Lady of Ekiti State. These are women whose professions continue to touch lives and lift communities.
Behind every great man and behind every meaningful development in the world, you will find iconic women. The time to celebrate them is now, while they are alive to see it and to be encouraged.
It is in that light that today, Kayegbo Media Outfit, an institution in its own right, will confer on Hon. Princess Teju Okuyiga the award of Outstanding Lawmaker of the Year.
We have closely monitored her work in the Gbonyin/Ayekire Constituency. She has kept faith with her people. She has fulfilled her promises.
Hon. Princess Teju Okuyiga has touched lives as a generous and ready giver. A clear example is the completion of 100 lock-up shops to empower her constituents. That project alone shows how she has used the opportunity of public office to build our nation and to stand for humanity. There is no doubt about her commitment. The unborn generation in the towns and villages of Gbonyin and Ayekire Local Government will remember her contributions.
On behalf of the Life Patron of Kayegbo Media, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, CON, who has empowered me to recognize Ekiti sons and daughters making us proud in their chosen professions, and in my capacity as Publisher of Kayegbo Publications, I hereby make this pronouncement:
Hon. Princess Teju Okuyiga is hereby honored and invested as the Outstanding Lawmaker of the Year 2026.
Her investiture takes place today here at Gbagede Kayegbo Studio in Ado-Ekiti.
And on October 1st, 2026, she will also be formally inducted into the _ULE ITAN EKITI PARAPO ARCHIVE_ in Okemesi, Ekiti State, South West Nigeria, as part of our living record of those who have served with distinction.
Congratulations, Hon. Princess Teju Okuyiga. May this honor spur you to do even more for our people.
