AGBEYEWA CUP: Excitement as Aramoko District Commercial Secondary School Clinches 2025 Trophy

It was an amazing and celebrations moment as Aramoko District Commercial Secondary School emerged the winner of the 2025 Agbeyewa Cup by defeating Igogo Commerical Secondary School by a lone goal in a dramatic final encounter.

TopNews reports that the two teams from the schools played an exciting football at the Olukismet stadium in Ikere-Ekiti, the headquarters of Ikere Local Government in Ekiti State.

The team of Aramoko district Commercial Secondary School, was able to score in the first half of the match to put pressure on their opponent.

Igogo Commerical Secondary School had several goal attempts to equalised but unfortunately missed several chances.

The game eventually ended 1-0 in favour of Aramoko District Commercial Secondary School.

The stadium was filled with supporters from the two schools singing and beating drums to cheer up their teams.

Security agencies such as the Nigerian Army, Police were on standby to ensure adequate safety of all personalities, students and supporters at the venue of the competition.

In another encounter, Eporo High School defeated Efon High School 4-2 in the third place match.

Aramoko District Commercial Secondary School won a trophy with N1million, Igogo Commerical Secondary School won a trophy with N750,000, Eporo High School won a trophy and a sum of N500,000 while the fourth team,Efon High School, won a sum of N250,000.

All players of the four teams also went home with complete set of jersey and school bags .

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State chapter supported Agbeyewa Cup 2025 and presented a Fair Play Award to EPORO HIGH School while the SWAN chairman , Qozeem Oladapo personally donated an award to the principal of Government College, Ado Ekiti , Mr Eweje mOlaonipekun as the Most Passionate Sports mloving Principal.

Dignitaries present at the final match include, Oba Sunday Aiku-irawo Aniyi the Obaleo of Erinmope Ekiti , Technical Advisor on Sports, Dr Olusola Osetoba , Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, Ekiti FA Chairman, Mr Oluwole Oloworemo while the Team Leader of Agbeyewa Farms, Mr Oscar Ayeleso led staff and management to the venue.
