…harps on integrity, mindsets as a way forward

Concern educationists under the eagies of ANCOPSS Veterans, Ekiti State chapter, has expressed deep concern over the levels of examination mal-practices in Ekiti.
The retirees who organized A-One-Day seminar lamented that the rate at which examination mal-practices are spreading in all the schools, both private and public schools nowadays is becoming alarming.
The programme organized with a focus on curbing the examination malpractices in all the schools in Ekiti State, was held at Christ School Alumni Hall in Ado-Ekiti were well attended.
Declaring the the event open, the chairman ANCOPSS Veterans, Mr Jimmy Ajobiewe noted that, “ANCOPSS Veterans in Ekiti State have always been following the trend of events in our educational institutions in the state. The rate at which examination mal-practices are being perpetrated in our secondary schools is becoming worrisome hence our decision to organize a day seminar”.

Delivering his paper, the resource persons, Professor Sunday Oni, harped on the need for all the stakeholders to see integrity and mindsets as a priority while carrying out their assignments especially during exams.
He said the teachers and school owners play a pivotal roles in the society, hence the need to ensure compliance with safety of norms and enhance the credibility of the services offering to the public so as to prevent half-baked graduates.

The educationist emphasized the need for all stakeholders in education to put all hands on deck in order to safeguard the future of the students.
He added that maintaining the integrity and highest standard in education while working with all the needed components prohibits and controls the spread of examination malpractices in our schools.
Prof. Oni urged all participants in the seminar to translate whatever they learn into their positive impacts in their various schools, noting that government should ensure strict compliance with the implementation of necessary rules in their respective schools.
Also speaking, one of the prominent members of the ANCOPSS Veterans, Prince Bayo Adeniran commended the participants over impressive turnout of the stakeholders at the seminar, noting that the body organized the programme to educate the public on the need to always maintain standards and do a way with examination malpractices during exams.

The former Tutor-General and chairman Teaching Service Commission in the state observed the rot in the education sector in highly worrisome, hence all hands must be on deck to sustain all the previous efforts and legacies laid by the founding fathers in education.
On her part, the ANCOPSS Veterans vice chairman in Ekiti State, Mrs Folake Alade, expressed optimism that exams malpractices and other-related act will be far from the schools in Ekiti if all hands are ready to put an end to it, which is targeted at making the students a catalyst of the war against indiscipline threats the standard of education.
She enjoined the teachers and other school owners to be mindful of their environment and to endeavour to do the needful, saying it is for their own good and the integrity of public.
In his remarks, the national president of ASSUS, comrade Sola Adigun commended the ANCOPSS Veterans for organising the programme despite their old age, adding that the seminar will further enlighten both the stakeholders and students on the danger of not keeping to rules of the examination period.


“It’s a big challenge for some of coming behind seeing those retirees who are above 70years of age, and yet still feel concern”, he said.
The programme also featured interactive session and exchanging of pleasantries with a call to government and other stakeholders to rescue the manace.
