The internationally recognised non- profit academic organisation, Professors Without Borders (PROWIBO), has continued with its mandate in Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening teaching, learning, and leadership capacity within the institution.
The initiative, which is the third series in the university from the organisation would be partnering with the university to provide leadership and digital training skills for the academic staff, while equipping students with practical knowledge in social entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and career development.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of EKSU, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, to signal the commencement of the 2026 five-day training programme, the Academic Lead of PROWIBO, Bob Eckhart, commended the Vice-Chancellor for the remarkable transformation the university has witnessed under his administration.

Eckhart noted that the visit marks the third engagement between PROWIBO and EKSU, describing the institution as a valued partner. He praised the Vice-Chancellor for creating an enabling environment that has fostered a strong and sustainable relationship between the organisation and the university.
He said the organisation was proud to be associated with EKSU and encouraged Professor Ayodele to sustain the momentum in positioning the university among globally recognised institutions.
According to Eckhart, the five-day programme will feature experienced international academics who will educate, inspire, and empower students with practical skills and knowledge aimed at enhancing their employability and preparing them for future career opportunities.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, expressed appreciation to PROWIBO for always considering EKSU as the host institution for the initiative in Ekiti State.
He commended the organisation for its unwavering commitment to the university, noting that such international collaborations would significantly enhance the institution’s global visibility, academic reputation, and international ranking.
Professor Ayodele stated that EKSU remains the leading state university in Nigeria, with a student population of over 40,000 and a stable academic calendar.
The Vice-Chancellor also disclosed that the university has commenced Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes in Medicine and is set to introduce Aerospace Engineering as part of its drive to expand academic excellence and innovation.
He assured the visiting team that all necessary logistics and institutional support had been put in place to ensure the success of the five-day training programme.
