….celebrate schools at ‘KidsCon’

The Governor of Ekiti State and some concerned stakeholders in education sector has called on students to be diligent and imbibe the reading culture attitudes and be diligent in their educational career in order to have a brighter future.
Governor Oyebanji who gave the charge in Ado-Ekiti at the third edition of “KidsCon 2025”, a program organized for the secondary schools students in collaboration with the state government.


According to Governor Oyebanji who was represented by his Special Adviser on on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Princess Adetoun Agboola said, part of the way out to the rot in education required the entire cooperation among the parents that impact informal education. Both teachers and government at all levels including the children themselves has roles to play to make it happen. “Children themselves must be train on how to display and imbibe cultural virtues to promote leaning in them”.

“The program represent what the government values, inclusion, excellence and working with children talents.
The Governor encouraged the students to keep developing their talents.
On her own part, the convener of ‘KidsCon’ program, Mrs. Funmi Bankole disclosed that, the idea came to her long ago, having been organized several editions in some school in Ondo. She promised herself to also give back to the society as a way of impacting lives positively for the benefits of Nigerian students.

Mrs. Bankole who charged participants to make use of those opportunities surrounding them on time, encouraged on the need to key into reading culture for a better tomorrow.
Speaking with Topnews, the principal of the school who emerged the overall best; Divine Touch International School Ado-Ekiti, Mr Dayo Ayodele expressed gratitude to God over the victory for the second time.

He urged parents and other stakeholders to give their children undiluted education and provide them all necessary things so as to become future leaders they were created to be in life.
Ayodele who hinted that though the preparation cost his school a lot of money in buying costumes, also expressed displeasure over the lackadaisical attitude of some parents towards the success of their wards and neglects their primary roles, advised them to turn a new leaf in order to have a better society.

Two of the participants who could not hold their joy while speaking with journalists includes Nwafor Amarachi from Faith & Wisdom International School and her counterpart from Shepherd International High School, Olajiga Oluwaseun applauded the initiative of Mrs Funmi Bankole and other organizers. They promised to make judicious use of all they have learnt during the event, adding that the annual program has further enlightened them on the danger of not keeping to rules of dedication to ones career.

The programme also featured interactive session and exchanging of pleasantries with a call to government and other stakeholders to rescue the nation from menace ravaging the progress of education.

In all, it was on record that a total numbers of 2,000 students across different schools duly participated amidst excitement and appreciation.
