ABUAD Don, Legal Practitioner, Others Charges Students on Reading Culture, Dedication

An Associate Professor from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Ifeoluwayimika Bamidele and other stakeholders in education sector in Nigeria, has called on students to be diligent and imbibe the reading culture attitudes and be diligent in their education career to have a better future.

They gave the charge in Ado-Ekiti at the third edition of ‘Annual School Conference’ with the theme: “10 Times Better Mastering Academic Excellence”, organized for secondary school students in Ekiti State by a legal practitioner, Ife Oladunjoye Empowerment Initiative.

According to Bamidele, “solution to examination malpractices required the entire cooperation among the parents that impact informal education. Both teachers and government at all levels including the children themselves has roles to play to make it happen. Children must be train on how to display and imbibe cultural virtues to promote leaning in them”.

On her own part, the convener, Barrister IfeOluwa Oladunjoye disclosed that, the idea came to her when she was much younger having been participated in so many school competitions. She promised herself to also give back to the society as a way of impacting lives positively for the benefits of Nigerian students.

The ABUAD Alumnus who charged participants to make use of those opportunities surrounding them on time, encouraged on the need to key into reading culture for a better tomorrow.

Parents of the convener while expressing their gratitude to God, Chief Biodun Iwalola and Mrs Mary Olufunke Aguda urged parents and other stakeholders to give their children undiluted education and to also provide them all necessary things so as to become future leaders they were created to be in life.

They also expressed displeasure over the lackadaisical attitude of some parents towards the success of their wards and neglects their primary roles, advised them to turn a new leaf in order to have a better society.

Two of the participants who could not hold their joy while speaking with TopNews includes Omoleye Michael and his counterpart from other school applauded the initiative of Barrister IfeOluwa Oladunjoye, they promised to make judicious use of all they have learnt during the event, adding that the annual conference has further enlightened them on the danger of not keeping to rules of dedication to ones career.

The programme also featured interactive session and exchanging of pleasantries with a call to government and other stakeholders to rescue the nation from menace ravaging the progress of education.

In all, it was on record that five schools registered for the life-changing program, while a total numbers of 63 students across different schools duly participated amidst excitement and appreciation.
