IWD: Ekiti NAWOJ Tasks Stakeholders on Meaningful Investment in Women, Girl Child

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Ekiti state has called on stakeholders to intensify efforts on the development of Women and Girl Child. The women Journalists posited this can be done by the stakeholders with meaningful Investment on womenfolk.

NAWOJ gave the submission to commemorate the celebration of this year International Women Day, IWD, annually celebrated every March 8.

The theme of this year’s event is: “Invest in women: Accelerate progress.”

NAWOJ in a release made available to TopNews by the Chairperson, Mrs Fatima Bello and the Secretary, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju stated that this year theme is timely going by the rate of accelerated development needed and being fast tracked in the society.

“Gender equality is crucial at this time for society to achieve and meet up the expectation in terms of standard and advancement.

“The critical roles of women and girl child would be enabled and impactful when more opportunities are given to them in terms of education, health and any other activities that would facilitate growth and exposure”.

The women Journalists therefore urged the stakeholders to keep the ball rolling on different Programs and gestures that promote the development of female Child , with a charge on authorities to devise the way forward in tackling the challenges affecting the gender advocacy.
