In continuation of the understudy tour to Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Mrs Tosin Aluko Ajisafe and her team visited the Department of Public Facilities Management, a department saddled with the responsibility of managing domestic wastewater by providing and maintained sewerage network and treatment plants in Lagos State.
The team further proceeded to Lagos State Waste Management Authority, where the Executive Director commended the Ekiti State Government or taking the bold step to understudy the workable plans for Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources. The Executive Director reiterated that there are seventeen thousand sweepers working on shift, and about four hundred and fifty Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) as well as active five dump sites located in strategic locations across Lagos State.
Also, the tour continued to Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO), where the Executive Secretary, Mrs Funke Adepoju was happy to receive the Commissioner and her team.
Mrs Adepoju elated that the visitation to Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission I dictated that the commission is doing well.
Finally, Chief Mrs Tosin Aluko Ajisafe and her team took a tour through the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), otherwise known as as Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), which was established in November, 2003 with the aim of ensuring general cleanliness of Lagos State, prevention of sales of food and cooking on roadside or sidewalks, arrests of persons who commits any offense under the new environmental sanitation laws.
