Tragedy as Former Super Eagles Striker Collapse, Dies During Training

Ex-Nigeria international striker, Michael Eneramo has announced died in the early hours of this morning during a routine training in the Northern part of the country, Kaduna State, TopNews reports.

The forward had a distinguished football career playing for teams like Esperance of Tunisia, Turkish sides Besiktas, Sivasspor and Istanbul Basaksehir among others.

He quit football in 2018, but usual keeps fit at a primary school pitch located in a region called Ungwan Yelwa in Kaduna, which is close to where he lives.

In the early hours of this morning, he was well and completed the first 45 minutes but slumped five minutes into the second half of the kickabout, and died before they got to the hospital.

Eneramo is fondly remembered for turning down overtures to play for Tunisia, and made his debut against them which he marked with a goal in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. It was the first of his ten caps for Nigeria at senior level, he scored three goals in total.
