‘Take Members Welfare A Priority’, S/West SWAN VP, Ogunsakin Charges New Oyo Exco

The Vic President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), South West Zone, Comrade Ayodeji Ogunsakin has urged the newly elected executive members of the Oyo state chapter to be up and doing towards the association matter and also give priority to the welfare of members towards moving the association to an enviable heights in the state.

He gave the advice while inaugurating the newly elected executive members of the state chapter, held at the NUJ Secretariat, Iyaganku Ibadan, Oyo state.

He said the new executive members should see their new position as call to service to move the association forward in the state and by extension South West and at the national level.

Ogunsakin who wants the members of the Exco to justify the confidence that the members reposed in them, by demonstrating good leadership styles, uphold ethical standard and ensure that the welfare of members remain their priorit.

He appealed to members to remain united and support the new executive to move the association forward in the state.

The SWAN leader therefore, congratulated the new executives and the members of the chapter for the peaceful conduct of the election, assured them of the support of the national president of the Association, Comrade Isiah Benjamin at all times.

Alhaji Ogunsakin who disclosed that under the current leadership of Isiah Benjamin’s led-administration, many benefits await members, urging them to continue to support the administration for SWAN to continue to wax stronger.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in chairman, Comrade Ajibola Ayomiku of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Ibadan network center who defeated his co-contestant, Comrade Remi Koleoso of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), extended his appreciation to all members of SWAN in the state for the mandate they gave him.

He promised to work assiduously to uphold the values and standard of Sport Writer Association of Nigeria and assured of the commitment of the current executive to work with ethical, accurate and impactful to move the association forward in the state.

Ayomiku promised to work and collaborate with all members of SWAN in the state to raise the profile of the association and to promote it to highest standard of journalism.
