NWFL Championship Qualifiers: Ekiti Queens Secure Maximum Points From 2 Matches, Top Group A

Ekiti Queens Football Club of Ekiti State on Sunday morning sealed their second straight victory at the ongoing National Women Football League (NEFL) Championship Qualifiers in Ikenne, Ogun State.

It took only 25 minutes before Ekiti Queens grabbed the solitary goal that ensured maximum points from their second match as Adelabu Pascaline fired home the crucial goal against Pelican Queens from Calabar, Cross Rivers State.

The BAORESS Babes now comfortably moved to the zenith of Group A despite conceding 3 goals in their first match against Moje Queens of Ilorin though the match eventually ended 4 goals to 3 in favor of Ekiti Queens.

Aside the vitctory, Ekiti Queens goalkeeper, Adeleke Adedoyin, was named Woman of the Match after helping her side beat the Pelican Stars 1-0 in the Match Day 2 of the 2023 NWFL-Championship.

The shot stopper made key saves to ensure Ekiti Queens’ came out of the match unscathed.

Ekiti Queens still have two opponents namely Kwara Ladies and Dannaz Queens to tackle to know who eventually top the group.

Each of the teams that top group A and group B at the NWFL championship qualifiers will qualify for the country’s National Women Football League.
