Incessant Accidents: ‘Ban Okada in Ekiti’, concerned residents appeals to Oyebanji

Concerned members of the public residing Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital have called on Governor Biodun Oyebanji to ban commercial motorcyclists from operating on highways in Ado-Ekiti.

The call followed incessant accidents involving commercial motorcyclists in Ado-Ekiti in which many innocent citizens have been killed while many were left with lifetime scars.

The concerned citizens spoke with TopNewsng at an accident scene involving two commercial motorcyclists around Oluyemi Kayode Stadium area, Dalimore street, Ado-Ekiti where one of the riders and a pregnant woman sustained degree of injuries

The respondents who spoke are Segun Babatunde, Kunle Oloruntoba and Ajayi Durotimi.

According to the residents, there seems to be no day without record of accident involving commercial motorcyclists.

This assertion was confirmed at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), where a staff confirmed that the emergency unit is filled with victims of Okada accidents.
