HELP! Ekiti Crippled Medalist Seeks Assistance, Needs New Wheelchair

Disabled Athlete and Gold Medallist, Ajimati Modupe has appealed to spirited Nigerians to assist her with new wheelchair.

The crippled and 2009 Gold medalist in powerlifting said her case was compounded after her old wheelchair began to malfunction, thereby making movement virtually impossible.

Modupe who has been making Ekiti State proud in powerlifting had  mentored many people with Disabilities  in the state.

Specifically, Modupe disclosed she require QUICKY or TOPEND brand of wheelchair which is good for sporting activities.

According to her, “My name is Ajimati Modupe one of the disabled Athletes in Ekiti State, presently I have issue with the wheelchair that I am using, I am in urgent need of another one for me to be able to move about and also go to work for training. I have represented the state in so many national championships and National Sports Festival where I won medals. It was fest that earned me the old wheelchair that I am using till today.

I will be grateful if I can get another sports wheelchair that will suit my sporting activities.

“I will be eternally grateful if I get a destiny helper who will donate another  wheelchair to me. The old one is giving series issue now. You can imagine my condition, movement is gradually becoming impossible for me unless I get somebody who will assist me”.

Outlining her achievements  in sports, Modupe said, “In  the year 2009, May 24 to 30th in Akure Ondo State I won Gold  medal and  emerged  the best overall best in the powerlifting championship. While in 2012 National Sports Festival tag Eko 2012,  I also won bronze medal in the 56kg category. With a lift of 100kg of weight that gave me the bronze medal then.” Mocupe said.
