The three monarchs were reported to be returning from a meeting when the assailants ambushed them along Ipao-Oke Ako road and killed the two Obas, while the third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara-Ekiti, HRM Oba Adebayo Fatoba escaped the attack.

Erelu Elebute-Halle in a statement made available to TopNews said the attack on the monarchs as well as the rising wave of attack and kidnapping in Ekiti State reinforce apprehensions of security compromises and lapses, which underpin the necessity to immediately rejig the state’s security apparatus.
