Encomiums As Peace Corps National Commandant, Prof Akoh Bags Lifetime Achievement Award

It was a moment of joy and celebrations as the National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Professor Dickson Akoh received a life time achievement award for his visionary disposition and exceptional commitment that led to the establishment and sustainability of the Peace Corps of Nigeria since inception in 1998 till date.

While presenting the Award, Publisher of National Crimewatch Magazine, Mr. Tony Okpe stated that Prof. Dickson Akoh was selected after due consideration from votes and feedbacks from the public. He added that the Magazine have in the past twenty years of existence followed the activities and antecedents of the Peace Corps of Nigeria and it’s National Commandant, Prof. Dickson Akoh in curbing the menace of youth restiveness, providing neighborhood watch, gathering of intelligence and it’s outstanding roles in schools and colleges all over the nation.

He added that the award is well deserving and a meritorious acknowledgement of his selfless service to the nation and humanity.

In his reaction, Prof Dickson Akoh ably represented by the Assistant National Commandant, Research and Planning, Patriot MK Mohammed thanked the Organizer of the program for the honour of been awarded during the 20th anniversary of the magazine.

He added that National Crimewatch Magazine has been a beacon of light in Nigeria which has fearlessly delved into the depth of crime, exposing corruption and championing the cause of justice in Nigeria.

He appreciated the fact that the Magazine recognized the enormous contributions of the Peace Corps of Nigeria to the nation’s security architecture, adding that the organization which has its establishment bill for Re-committal by the 10th National Assembly is poised to do even more to curb the menace of youth restiveness which has been adjudge in many quarters to be one of the major contributor to the present insecurities that has engulfed the nation.

Dignitaries in attendance were, the representative of the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Dr. Abubarkar Audi, Spokes person of the State Security Services, Dr. Peter Atunanya, Prof. Ozokhome (SAN) and many security experts.
