EKSEPA Boss urges RAAMP contractors to complete abandon projects

The Chairman of Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency(EKSEPA), Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo has appealed to contractors handling Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project(RAAMP) between Oye and Are-Ekiti road to complete the project.

Oguntoyinbo, who is also the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) on Sunday in Oye-Ekiti.

The community leader said the state government is not owing the contractors a dime and staying away from the site was not fair to the residents of the affected communities.

He said Oye and Are -Ekiti roads which is under RAAMP would be another alternative route to Ado Ekiti if completed in record time.

” I want to appeal to the contractors handling the road between Oye and Are-Ekiti to return to site and complete the project.

” The state government is not owing the contractors a dime, we are already in the rainy season, the project should be completed in due time to afford reactions from residents,” he said.

Oguntoyinbo appealed to the contractors to use good materials in constructing the road to make it durable and improve the transportation system in the communities.

Similarly, the Coordinator of RAAMP in Ekiti, Mr Sunday Adumo said Oye to Are -Ekiti road has not been abandoned as being speculated by some residents of the affected communities.

He confirmed that the state government has paid all the necessary fees to enhance quick completion of the project.

Adumo, however urged the contractors in charge of the road to return to site and complete the ongoing project in due time.
