…..hails Governor Oyebannji giant strides

The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, has congratulated Nigerian workers, particularly members of the university community, on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration.
According a release TopNews in Ado-Ekiti to commemorate this year’s International Workers’ Day, Professor Ayodele noted that the commitment of both teaching and non-teaching staff has significantly supported his administration in building a university that competes, serves, and endures.

The Vice Chancellor also commended the Visitor to the University and Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his unwavering, sincere, and exceptional support for the institution and its administration. He described the Governor’s influence and interventions as true game changers, particularly in enhancing the welfare of both staff and students.
“Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to building a university that not only competes nationally and globally but also serves our society in meaningful ways, ensuring that the legacy of Ekiti State University endures for generations to come” he stated.
Professor Ayodele further expressed deep appreciation to all workers’ unions within the university (ASUU, SSANU, NAAT, and NASU) for their leadership, sacrifices, understanding, and resilience since he assumed office one year and seven months ago. He praised the unions for fostering an enabling environment that has ensured the stability of the academic calendar and sustained industrial harmony on campus.
The Vice Chancellor urged the workforce to remain dedicated and committed to their duties in order to realize the vision of the university’s founding fathers. He reassured them of his administration’s continued commitment to prioritizing staff welfare, emphasizing that every labourer deserves fair reward.
He also encouraged staff to prioritize their health by engaging in regular medical check-ups, getting adequate rest, and maintaining proper nutrition and exercise routines.
