….As Pioneer State Chairman Marks Birthday

The Secretary to the Government of Ekiti State, Prof. Abibat Adubiaro, Senator Babafemi Ojudu and notable University dons are among other dignitaries expected on Saturday 21st February to grace the special monthly reading of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), organized to commemorate the birthday of the pioneer State Chairman of the Association, Dr Tai Oguntayo.
According to a release made available to TopNews in Ado-Ekiti by Dr Oguntayo enjoined the public to grace the special occasion for the month of February, 2025.
His words; “As part of my effort in giving back to the society as well as contribute to knowledge, I will be giving some giveaways during the ANA’s special reading to commemorate my birthday this Saturday, I intend to institute an Annual Literary Prize for the Best Fiction Author in Ekiti on that day. In addition, I will do a giveaway of various titles of my books to early comers on that day. It’s also my plan to donate TV set and DSTV gadget to Ekiti Council of NUJ for giving ANA its Hall free of charge for our meetings since my tenure in office as ANA Pioneer Chairman in Ekiti. By the special grace of God.
“The first 20 early arrivals at the event will also be receiving of my different books free of charge while others will be privileged to buy copies at N1,000 each, subsidized rate”.
It will be recalled that Dr Tai Oguntayo also initiated a prize for the Best Investigative Journalist of the Year for the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) two years ago and twice he had given monetary prize to the winners. He was the State Chairman of the Union between 2008 and 2011.
