Beneficiaries and residents of Ora-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State and it’s environ who received best health services from the free-health mission program sponsored by a group “For Our Future Foundation and the family of Oluwole Fasanmi” from Aramoko-Ekiti, the headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government has continue to appreciated the kind-hearted gesture of the philanthropists.
Venue of the event hall, located along Ido Road, was filled to the brim as people from all walks of life trouped out en-masse with different ailments seeking free care services.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with TopNews Correspondent hailed family for their vision to help others who can not afford money to buy medicine that can take care of their health especially in this trying time in the country.
They described the conveners of the event as lovers of people and as someone who always so passionate about the well-being and development of other people of the state at large. They also hinted that the free-health mission is part of the efforts of the Fasanmi family from Aramoko community to support the residents of Ekiti state on various health related challenges.
“As you can see, people came out en-mass to take part and we are really appreciated for the love and support they have shown so far”.
According to them, “this vision has resulted into an initiatives aimed at ensuring the well-being of the generalities of the people of the state. Their efforts in the areas of good healthcare services have positively impacted the lives of the people of Ekiti”.
The beneficiaries affirmed that the Fasanmi family had shown an uncommon compassion in terms of communities welfare including the rural areas across length and bregth of the state.
According to him, “the program organized by Mr and Mrs Oluwole Fasanmi is highly commendable which others should emulate by given back to their people. We shouldn’t joke with our health because health as they say is wealth and that a wealthy man is the owner of whatever he owns. Anytime anyone feel somehow in their body system or before it will get to that level, they should go and consult their doctor so that the necessary steps will be taken”.
They appreciated the conveners of the event and prayed that God grant them more good health, wisdom, knowledge and understanding to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far in the coming years.
In a separate interview with newsmen, Mr Ojo Adefuye also appreciated the Oluwole Fasanmi Family Foundation for the various programs put in place for the people of the state as part of measures to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal, a gesture he described as unprecedented.
He said, the Fasanmi family are a rare breed. They are very courageous, transparent and passionate christians who are sincere in their guest to assist people around them.
He therefore solicited unalloyed support of other well to do people in the society to a cue from the convener’s efforts in ensuring that more healthcare services and other benefits are delivered to the people of the state.
Commenting on the program in an interaction with journalists shortly after the event, a medical expert (Name withheld), further disclosed that lots of millions of naira has been invested on the free-health mission just to make sure that a lot of people are been taken care of considering how expensive it is to have access to quality health care in the country today.
He added that a over two eighty (326) glasses were distributed to the beneficiaries during the program and that the Fasanmi family had collaborated with some people in overseas to offered best healthcare services to Ekiti residents.
“This program is a global one now and the family who organized this are not politician, it is a self-help project. We have visited so many towns and villages in Ekiti and even beyond.
He noted that the turn out was so impressive and encouraging. “Anyone given back to his or her society by sponsoring free-health program like this is doing a good job to the community because health is wealth and God too will be happy.
“Part of the thing we are doing majorly here today is free consultation for eye cataracts and to do surgery for cataract. We also check blood pressure and sugar level including general body checking for minor illness and also referring them to the eye experts personnel for those who may need glasses and they would be referred for a higher treatment and we are glad they are responding”.
He therefore urged them to take their health very serious, noting there is nothing to compare with sound health.
Reacting, the organizers of the free health mission, Mr and Mrs Oluwole Fasanmi give God all the glory for making it a success and thanked those who came en-mass to benefit from the guesture.
The retired but not tired couple in an interview disclosed that all the drugs distributed was properly imported from the United State of America and advised that people should take their health very serious so as to stay healthy while alive.
His words: “This program has been in existence going to seven years and is meant to assist people with less privilege in our society concerning their health. We have been doing it round Ekiti towns and villages as over nine communities including Ado-Ekiti, Okemesi, Igogo, Erio, Aramoko, Ilawe, Ode, Ilumoba, and now in Ora-Ekiti to mention but a few have benefited from the program.
“We have been doing it to help people who can not afford the health system nor go to the hospital to cater for their body. Some people are at home seriously seek concerning the health issue like high blood pressure, sugar level, eyes problem, malaria and even diabetes. We help such people to get treated through our medical experts on ground to attend to them without paying a dime for the services”, the Fasanmi’s concluded.
Few out of the over 570 beneficiaries who spoke with newsmen lauded the efforts of the Fasanmi family for sponsoring the program. They appealed to all well-meaning indigenes of Ekiti home and diaspora by calling them to emulate the gestures.
Had in record that participants drawn from various communities under Oye and Ido/Osi Governments axis and that part of the medical test run at the program which had over twenty medical experts include free eye checks, distribution of free drugs, free glasses, medical consultation and checks, health education, diabetes screening and intervention, hypertension screening and malaria treatment.
