In line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP OLATUNJI RILWAN DISU psc(+), NPM, that all Commands and Formations should ensure constant engagements and synergy with the relevant stakeholders within their jurisdictions in tackling insecurity, the State Commissioner of Police, CP FALADE ADEGOROYE MICHEAL, implored the traditional rulers and other stakeholders as well as all citizens to support and collaborate with the Police for a safer society.
The Commissioner, who stated this during the Agbeyewa Traditional Rulers Retreat 2026 held at Ikogosi-Ekiti on 15th April, 2026, noted that the Police and other security agencies can fully succeed in their statutory responsibility of protecting lives and property if everyone plays their parts and trusts the Police.
He stated that the Command, in its proactive measure, has commenced a special bush combing operations jointly with the Nigerian Army, the DSS, NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, Agro Marshal Vigilante group and the local hunters. This, according to the CP, is to ensure criminal elements do not hybernate anywhere in the State to cause havoc on the farmers and other innocent citizens.

The CP noted that agricultural development can only be sustained where there is adequate security. He promised to continue to engage in Bush combing operations, visibility Policing, raids of criminal hideouts and intelligence led policing in order to ensure maximum security and create an atmosphere where all innocent and law-abiding citizens can go about their lawful businesses.
The retreat was attended by prominent traditional rulers in Ekiti State and the Southwest, including His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeye Enitan Ogunwusi (the Ooni of Ife), The Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Oba Adejimi Adu-Alagbado, the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, amongst others revered traditional rulers.
