Ekiti Govt to Commence Implementation of Safety Standards for Establishment of Gas Stations — Hon. Aluko

The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe, has said that full implementation of regulation and safety standards for establishment of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Stations in the State from Monday, 5th February, 2024.

In a statement made available to TopNews by the Commissioner in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital says, the full implementation was to ensure the safety standards for establishment of liquefied gas stations for major marketers and retail outlets as well as boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the State.

Following the meeting that the Commissioner and the management team of the ministry held with the consultant (ROTYEM & SAMERCY NIG. LTD), and representatives of the LPG Dealers including the Marketers in the State on Thursday, February 1st, 2024 as contained in the statement, unanimously agreed and resolved that, the safety standard should be enforced to forestall the occurrence of lives and property threatening calamities in view of inflammable and explosive nature of LPG.

According to the Statement, the Management of Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources, through the initiatives is determined to surpass its revenue generation capacity of Ten Million as approved by the Treasury in the 2024 Revenue Budget of EKSEPA.
