Ekiti Contingent Set for Zonal Elimination, Departs February 24

The Ekiti State sports contingent is set to depart Ado-Ekiti on Monday, February 24, for the highly anticipated Zonal Elimination competition, with a scheduled return on February 28.

This was made known in a statement made available to TopNews by the Technical Advisor for Sports Development, Dr. Olusola Osetoba, who expressed enthusiasm and confidence in the team’s ability to represent the state with pride and excellence.

The team will be competing in six sporting categories: hockey, basketball, football, volleyball, handball, and beach volleyball.

His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has generously ensured that all necessary logistics are in place, including accommodation, feeding, and allowances for the athletes and officials.

In preparation for the event, players’ jerseys have been distributed to their respective coaches, and stringent security arrangements have been finalized to guarantee the safety of the contingent throughout the competition.

As Ekiti’s finest athletes set forth to showcase their talents on the zonal stage, they carry the hopes and support of the state, aiming to secure victories across all competing sports.
