….hold New Year get-together in grand style

Ekiti APC Female Elders Forum have unanimously reaffirmed their steadfast support for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji ahead of the June 20, 2026 gubernatorial election.
The declaration was made on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti at the forum’s New Year Get-together under the leadership of Chief Mrs Ronke Okunsanya.

Addressing the auspicious gathering, Chief Mrs Okunsanya appreciated Governor Oyebanji for his consistent support to the female elders stressing that his gender-friendly policies have given women a huge sense of responsibility and pride in the polity.
She assured that the female elders would remain steadfast and united in ensuring the re-election of Governor Oyebanji saying that they are ready to deliver their votes overwhelmingly for his second term ambition.
According to her, “he has been able to transform Ekiti State and is impacting positively in every aspect of the economy. He has not left any group out. Governor Oyebanji is full of meekness and human kindness.
“It is God that used the governor to bring us together. As soon as he came into office three years ago, he called me to gather the women that struggled for his emergence and here we are today, a fledgling group put together and funded adequately by the governor.”
Okunsanya disclosed that members of the forum are drawn from the three senatorial districts, 16 local governments and 177 wards of the state while urging them to continually remain steadfast in promoting the achievements of the governor at the grassroots level.
Gracing the epoch-making event as the Special Guest of Honour, wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji described Mrs Okunsanya as a mother indeed and appreciated her for providing the platform for the female elders.
She expressed optimism that the female elders would stand solidly behind the governor’s re-election saying that “I have nothing to fear about female elders.”
While highlighting the various achievements in her office, the First Lady urged them to “be selfless and contented because life is about impact. I am an Apostle of bend backwards.”
Also speaking, Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olagbaju Bolaji stressed the need to sustain their support noting that the Oyebanji’s administration is widely acknowledged for his commitment to gender inclusion.
She described Governor Oyebanji as a gender-friendly leader who prioritizes women’s inclusion in governance highlighting that under his administration, women have been actively involved in leadership positions.
On her part, Ekiti State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Peju Babafemi described the governor as an elder-friendly leader noting that her Ministry and that of the First Lady are committed to prioritizing the welfare of the elderly.
Among those in attendance were the APC Women Leader, Mrs Caroline Egunlusi, Chip Whip of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Olowookere Bosede, Director General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho, top government functionaries, representatives from each senatorial districts, etc.
