CNPP Tasks Ekiti 7th Assembly On Housing, Other Social Amenities …Lauds Governor Oyebanji Over Developmental Strides

A political pressure group, Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), Ekiti State chapter has urged the newly inaugurated House of Assembly leadership to give more attention to the housing sector in the state.

CNPP in a release made available to TopNewsng in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital by it Chairman, Prince Ayo Adelabu and Secretary, Pastor (Dr) Akinola Victor said, they were elected to take up responsibilities and challenges facing by the entire Ekiti people.

The group lamented that in a situation where housing was not a part of the top most priority all this while in the state, adding that it was appalling as it remained the most compelling index in measuring the growth of the economy in developed countries.

The umbrella body cited a situation where a civil servant was unable to afford a house after being in service for upward 20-years, stating that the practice all over the world is that houses are purchased on mortgage.

According to the statement, “We are supporting initiative on food, water, job creation, energy and security across and we shall be looking up to this,” the Conference said.

They urged the new Assembly lawmakers in the state to prioritize housing scheme include other social infrastructures for Ekiti people as part of their legislative developmental agenda within the next four years in office.

The group tasked the lawmakers to ensure more significant improvement through vibrant legislative activities in their proceedings.

“As Ekiti based indigenes, we congratulates the newly swearing-in 7th Assembly lawmakers on the new feat, and also celebrate the first female deputy speaker in the state, Rt. Hon. Bolaji Adediwura Egbeyemi-Olagbaju of Ado constituency 2 and other female lawmakers in the assembly with a charge to always uphold a robust developmental discussion in their activities.

The political body wishes the lawmakers headed by Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye a successful tenure.

The Conference also commended the outgone State House of Assembly members over the extension of Local Government tenure’s Chairmen to 3-years in office.

It added that, “This legislative measure is a reflection of the commitment of the state governor and his dedication to enchance proper infrastructure, improve access to rural area and booster the economic growth of Ekiti state to ensuring all round development to the grassroots”.

The Conference lauded the activities of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in his bid to reposition and heal the wounds of political dis-illusionment in the state.

“In fairness to Mr governor, he appears to be the most prepared, that knows the right thing to do”.

“CNPP strongly remind the Ekiti state Governor on the need for the government of inclusiveness for the dividends of democracy to spread across board in our dear beloved Ekiti State”, the Conference concluded.
