‘Be Multitasking, Selfreliance’ – Governor Oyebanji’s Commissioners Charges Ekiti Youths (See Video)

Teeming youths in Ekiti state and Nigeria at large has been urged to explore all opportunities sorunding them and be self-sustainers in their choosing careers.

Speaking at the grandfinale of a week long programme tagged: “Ekiti Enterprise Challenge”, which was organized purposely aiming at empowering young Ekiti entrepreneurs in the state, held in Ado-Ekiti, the Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperative Ministry, Mrs Omotayo Adeola disclosed that she was impressed by the organizers of the event, that they have discovered the need for Ekiti entrepreneurs to go through such training.

She admonished the youths especially the entrepreneurship ones in the state and Nigeria in general to be up and doing and as well focus in whatever they are doing.

According to her, “Traditionally, Ekiti is not an entrepreneurship state but we are more of civil servants. I want to commend them for taken the bull by the horns. I’m glad with the work the organizers have done for camping them for proper training and empowerment so as to be self-sustained in future.”

Commenting on the program, the Honourable Commissioner for Youths Development in the state, Mr Gold Adedayo urged youths and participants at the even to buckle up their belts and be a multitasking professionals in their business plans.

He identified the training at the program as a booster that would guide the upcoming entrepreneurs to limelights.

While lauded Engr. Dare Ojo for the foresight and passion for the youths development, Mr Adedayo called on the youths to be more dedicated, focus and multi-tasking in order to be reckoned with.

The governor aide who hailed the EEC founder for making impact in the society adding that the program is for all ages especially the youths who are ready to set themselves free from looking for white-collar job that are not out there.

At the program, the resource persons took their time to lectured the participants on how effective financial management was central to their business growth, understand how cash-flow works and how to keep important financial records and manage banking relationship amongst others.

In a chat with TopNews Crew during the event, Mr Akintunde Babalola said the programme is part of the vision of the group to make positive impact upon people’s lives towards building a better society especially in Ekiti.

The Ilupeju Ekiti born-publisher implored Ekiti youths to quickly tapped into a tot of the opportunities that are surrounding them, noted that the the program has helped youths and thereby they were exposed to career opportunities to help reduce the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

“It’s organized basically to impact on people’s lives especially the less privilege, young and vulnerable people. Those are the categories that the vision had helped in order to touch their lives positively. There’s no that the level of unemployment is rising everyday. With the programme exposing the youths today, we are having over 15 youths who are entrepreneurs that participated in this programme.

He explained that the even will definitely expose them to career opportunities that are embedded in technologies and how they can discover those opportunities, build careers and make money through it.

The Ekiti Enterprise Challenge (EEC) is an initiative of the converner, Engr. Dare Ojo aimed at identifying businesses in Ekiti state owned by Ekiti indigenes that are doing well but who needs some financial support, trainings and network.

The week long event was rounded up with the grand finale ceremony where the overall three lucky winners successfully emerge with the star prize of N1.5m as take home.

Some of the participants while commenting on the laudable program commended the organizers and the resource person at the program.

The event attracted eminent personalities from far and near as the Ekiti Enterprise Challenge program also featured lectures, seminar, award presentation and training by resource persons on the effective usage of content creation, social media, technology, blogging, e-commerce, affiliate marketing, branding, dropshipping and packaging etc.
