The Ekiti State Government on Thursday have expressed satisfaction with the site engineers handling the dredging of waterways in Ido, Otun and Aramoko -Ekiti.
The Chairman of Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency (EKSEPA), Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo made this known when him and other board members paid a scheduled visit to the ongoing dredging site in Aramoko-Ekiti.
Oguntoyinbo said he was satisfied with the level of work done on the waterways located at Alapo Lane 6, 3, in Ido-Ekiti, Ijemu and Inisa streets in Otun-Ekiti as well as Aramoko-Ekiti.

“I and the board members want to expressed our satisfaction and happiness with the level of work done in the dredging of waterways in Ido, Otun and the ongoing one in Aramoko-Ekiti.
“I want to thanked our amiable governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for being proactive and giving priority to the safety of his people at the rural areas.
“Also, I want to commend the General Manager of EKSEPA, Mr Olukayode Adunmo for supervising this projects and ensuring that it was completed in due time,” he said.
Oguntoyinbo urged the local government chairmen of Ido-Osi, Moba and Ekiti West Local Government Areas where the dredge waterways are located to curb residents from dumping waste in it.
“I want to urge the local government chairmen of the affected communities to educate their people on danger involved in disposing of refuse and building houses on waterways,” he said.
Also speaking, the General Manager of EKSEPA, Mr Olukayode Adunmo, said the scheduled visit to the dredging site was to enable the chairman and the board members evaluate the quality of work done by the site engineers.
He said the objective of the project was to ensure that no flood was experienced in any part of Ekiti in 2025.
Adunmo said the dredging of the waterways was given priority, to ensure that residents and indigenes living in the communities were not affected by flood during the rainy season.
“I invited the chairman and board members to the dredging sites in Ido, Otun and Aramoko -Ekiti, to see the level of work done in the area.
“In Ido and Otun-Ekiti, the agency have completed 3 kilometers dredging of waterways, the dredging of the waterways in Aramoko -Ekiti will be completed in few days.
“I want to commend our governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for providing funds to carry out the dredging of the waterways, in this communities,” he said.
Reacting, the residents of Ido and Aramoko -Ekiti, Mr Oyedele Oyeniran and Mrs Taiwo Owolabi thanked governor Biodun Oyebanji for taking proactive measures to save their lives and properties from flooding.
