Historically, Ekiti State has faced a tumultuous political landscape after the tenure of His Excellency, Niyi Adebayo, our first civilian governor. The political dramas and tensions that followed resulted in deep divides among party lines, transforming our once-peaceful state into a theater of unrest. This unfortunate trajectory not only disrupted our social cohesion but also set back our developmental progress.
Then came a beacon of hope: Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. His leadership marked a significant turning point as he began to mend the frayed relationships between various political factions in Ekiti State. His commitment to fostering love, tolerance, and unity has been nothing short of transformative, an unprecedented feat in our political history.
Under his stewardship, the state is witnessing a renaissance. Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has successfully bridged the gaps of animosity, laying a foundation for a collaborative environment that is essential for genuine development. He has tackled the pressing challenges we faced head-on, realizing that sustainable progress can only flourish in a climate of mutual respect and understanding.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Governor Oyebanji has diligently worked toward fulfilling his electoral promises. The prompt payment of salaries for our diligent workers, the clearing of pension backlogs, and consistent support for our retired workers have returned stability to our local economies.
Furthermore, the landscape of Ekiti is adorned with significant infrastructural advancements that showcase the resurgence of our dear State.
Youth Empowerment takes center stage in Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s Administration. Whether through agricultural initiatives, ICT training, or vocational programs, the youth are not just being engaged but are being equipped to thrive in today’s world.
Local businesses and contractors are being prioritized, stimulating Economic growth and creating jobs. Women, too, are benefiting from various Government Empowerment schemes, proving that inclusivity is at the heart of his Governance.
Governor Oyebanji’s remarkable ability to listen and adapt to criticism has been a hallmark of his leadership. He engages regularly with the people, whether in towns, communities, or markets, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs addressed.
Have we truly witnessed such responsiveness in previous administrations? Absolutely not!
