SOUTH-WEST GAMES; Technical Advisor Relaxes Ban on Stadium as Athletics Association holds Trials

The Technical Advisor to Ekiti State Governor on Sports Development, Dr (Mrs) Olusola Osetoba has graciously directed the relaxation of the ban on the use of Oluyemi Kayode Stadium Ado Ekiti.

This is to make room for the training of athletes who will be representing the state at the forthcoming South West Alliance U-18 Games in Lagos as well as National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

Sportsmen and women were earlier told to stay away from the stadium due to the massive reconstruction, renovation and facelift taking place at the venue.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Athletics Association will tomorrow, Wednesday 12th March, hold its trials ahead of the South West Alliance U-18 Games in Lagos.

The trials, billed for the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, will involve only 100, 200 and 400 metres athletes.

According to a statement made available to TopNews by the the Director, Individual Sports, Ekiti State Sports Commission, Mr Adekunle Adewumi, 7 male and 7 female athletes will be picked for the trip to Lagos.

The South West Alliance U-18 Games is billed for Lagos between the 25th and 29th of this month while the National Sports Festival is scheduled for May in Ogun State.
