Three outstanding students from Ekiti State have been honored with awards for academic excellence at the 2026 Ekiti Future Agenda Awards, which took place yesterday at the Adetiloye Hall in Ado Ekiti.
The Awards were given in recognition of their remarkable achievements in national academic competitions.


The students—Oreoluwa Alayande, Damilola Adeolu, and Goodness Ewenike—who all attend St. Lawrence Metropolitan College in Ado Ekiti, were celebrated for their contributions to the educational success in both local , State and National Levels.
The awards were presented to the students by Ajoni LCDA Chairman, Amb. Prince Micheal Ogungbemi, during a ceremony that honored Ekiti’s future stars who have excelled in various fields.
The trio was acknowledged for their exceptional performances at multiple national levels, having recently achieved significant milestones in various academic competitions.
Oreoluwa Alayande, a 14-year-old student, was recently crowned the 2025 MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Champion from where she received a ₦5 million educational grant, had the opportunity to serve as MTN’s CEO for a day, won a brand-new laptop and smartphone, along with the title of Face of mPulse for one year. Additionally, her school was awarded ₦10 million, along with 10 laptops and 10 MTN 5G routers, while her teacher received a cash prize of ₦500,000.
In another competition that same year, Damilola Adeolu, a 13-year-old student from the same school, secured second place in the Nigeria Spelling Bee held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and will represent Nigeria and Ekiti State at the international level in Zimbabwe.
Furthermore, in 2025, Goodness Ewenike, also 14 years old and a student at the same institution, clinched first place at the National Spell Africa competition in Lagos. At the time of these achievements, all three students were in SS2.
This recognition highlights the academic excellence of these scholars and showcases the success of St. Lawrence School Metropolitan College, Ado Ekiti, on a global stage following their recent triumphs in various academic competitions.
