POLITICAL APPOINTMENT: ‘Oyebanji Has Not Forgotten Us’, Fapohunda Assures APC Leaders In Okemesi

Former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State, Mr Olawale Fapohunda, SAN, has assured the All Progressives Congress (APC), Party leadership in Okemesi-Ekiti, that they have not been forgotten by the administration of Governor of the state, Mr Biodun Oyebanji.

Addressing party leaders at a well-attended APC stakeholders’ meeting in his country homw in Okemesi, the Headquarters of Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Areas (LCDA), Fapohunda said that all the party’s requests to Governor Oyebanji have been approved.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria said he has been assured by Governor Oyebanji that reconstruction work will commence on the Itawure–Okemesi–Ijero Road, which has been a reoccurring source of concern for the party’s leadership.

He further stated that the issue of the non-representation of Okemesi in the State Executive Council will be addressed shortly.

Fapohunda noted that the governor was well aware of the contribution of Okemesi to the emergence of the current political dispensation, especially during the recent elections.

In response to rumours about divisions between himself and Honourable Biodun Omoleye and the Governor, Fapohunda, assured that these were only rumours. He said their relationship remained solid, and all three of them were pre-occupied with ensuring the success of Oyebanji’s administration.

Speaking further on the forthcoming local government elections, Fapohunda said he can confidently assure that Governor Oyebanji is a hundred per cent in support of a level playing field for all aspirants.

He said that the Governor’s interest is to ensure that the process is conducted and completed in a manner that will enhance party unity. He urged APC leaders in Okemesi to keep the peace during the process.

Fapohunda also called on party leaders in the constituency to keep faith with the Oyebanji administration, saying that all their desires will be met with patience and perseverance.

The former attorney general used the opportunity to call on the leaders to reach out to members of other parties who want to join the APC. According to him, membership drives should be integral to party activities.
