The Technical Adviser on Employment to the Ekiti State Government, Hon. Rotimi Faleye has lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his significant efforts in ensuring adequate of lives and properties in the state.
He commended the security agencies for swift release of the school children who were recently kidnapped in Emure-Ekiti while returning from their school.
According to him, “Governor Oyebanji has done a yeoman job by sprang into action immediately upon receiving the news of the kidnapped school children, which occurred in Emure Ekiti on the same day two traditional rulers were ambushed and murdered along Oke Ako in Ajoni LCDA in Ikole Ekiti by suspected assailants, this particular efforts by our governor has largely been described as highly commendable”.
Hon. Faleye in a chat with TopNews stated that the Governor did well by meeting with the security operatives in Ekiti, the Inspector General of Police, and also the service Chiefs. He stressed that these efforts paid off, as the school children were released in the wee hours of Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Hon. Faleye who sympathized with the families of the two monarchs and the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers on the death of the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, HRM Oba Babatunde Ogunsakin and the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, HRM Oba Olatunde Olusola. He prayed that the families of the slain monarchs, that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The All Progressives Congress stalwart therefore suggested that the security agencies saddled with the security of the environments should live above board in the execution of their duties adding that this will eliminate growing suspicion in many quarters that kidnappings and other societal vices cannot succeed without their connivance.
Faleye who observed that the traumatic experience of the children in the kidnappers’ den was described a bad one considering the age of the pupils. He thanked Governor Oyebanji who directed the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani to take the children to the state Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti for proper medical treatment and post trauma therapy, saying this would go along way in the mind of the affected children.
It would be recalled that governor Oyebanji has again restates his determination to stamp out crime and criminality and make the state unbearable for criminals. While assuring Nigerians that killers of the two Ekiti Obas would be fished out and made to face the maximum weight of the law.
Hon. Faleye who charges the security agencies to justify the confidence repose in them by living to standard, therefore appealed to the people of the state to remain vigilant, give necessary information and report any suspicious movement in their communities to the appropriate quarters so as to make the society a criminal free one.
