Oyebanji’s Aide, Adebayo Reinstate Commitment to Rock Arena Community

The Commissioner for Works in Ekiti State, Hon. Adesola Adebayo has said that he will do everything humanly possible to liase with the people that matters especially the Governor Boidun Oyebanji over lack of social amenities encountering residents of Rock Arena community along New Ado/Iyin road in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.

The commissioner who gave the assurance while playing host to the leadership of the community at his office in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, reffairmed Governor Boidun Oyebanji and Senator Opeyemi Bamidele commitment towards the community development and provisions of more dividends of democracy to Ekiti people.

Hon. Adebayo noted that Governor Oyebanji’s administration also place greater premium on the development of rural areas across the state in sustaining peace and fostering development across towns and villages of Ekiti.

He appealed to the residents to continue to promote peace, irrespective of their political affiliation, religion, or social status, but to encourage communal harmony, and to also support government initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the occupants.

While hailing the Governor of Ekiti State for his commitment towards the grassroots development, and also the resilient of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Hon. Adebayo hinted that this great commitment has again reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering people of the state, and thereby promoting inclusivity, and strengthening grassroots participation in the state.

He reinstated government commitment in transforming all the nooks and crannies of the state to a model and epicentre of development in the state, by working with other critical stakeholders, with an assurance that no community will be left untouched under the present administration.

In his appeal for more unity in the community, the commissioner reminded that the strength of any town lies in its togetherness, encouraging all residents to be in one accord and rally round leaders whose God has place in the positions of authority for more developmental projects.

Speaking earlier during the meeting, the Chairman Landlords Association of the community, Mr Samuel Ajayi lamented the levels of neglect by government and other political officers holders, adding that residents of the community have been in darkness for over seven years after so many efforts made without yielding any meaningful outcome.

His words: “We have written many letters on assistance just to get it done and that, this time around, we the entire landlords and landladies of the the Rock Arena community hereby again beging our talk and do governor Biodun Oyebanji for the electrification and transformer installation in our area”.

“We sent many save our souls messages even before now to the Ekiti state governor, leader the senate; Opeyemi Bamidele and Hon. Shola Fatoba to please come to our rescue through provision of electricity, motorize-borehole water system, street-solar energy and also to fix the two roads leading to the community”.

Ajayi who emphasized that the community with over 250 voting strength and residents numbering over 150 houses called on the governor and other political officeholders to assist them in fast-tracking the project in order to make life better for the occupants.

According to him, “Rock Arena is a fast-growing and developing community located along new Ado/Iyin road in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Ekiti state and less than half (1/2) a kilometer to Corper’s Lodge where the facility (electricity) terminated here in Ado-Ekiti.

“We have been battling with this project since 2018 as a community, but we are not financially buoyant to get it done on time. We like to seek your indulgence as a listening leader to assist us in bringing light into the Arena, because we know and have knowledge of good and valuable projects you are doing in all the nooks and crannies of the state”.

Ajayi hoping that if the electrification project of the axis is been executed, it will improve and boost the economy of the state and thereby enhance the standard living of the people residing in the community and make life bearable for them.
