The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has said that he was not the one who presented crowns to the ten newly coronated High Chiefs of the Olubadan-in-Council.

He said he was only at the event to present the instrument of office as expected of him as Governor as well as to observe event as a guest.

Makinde made the clarification while giving a remark at the ongoing coronation ceremony of ten High Chiefs of Olubadan.

But former Governor Rashidi Ladoja, who would have been the eleventh monarch, was absent to receive the crown.

Makinde said the clarification became imperative in view of insinuations that he was behind the crowning of the Obas.

He noted at a time he was against the crowning of some monarchs but that he had learnt better and seen things more clearly especially since the request was made by the Olubadan himself.

He added that those who may be considering legal option to challenge the coronation will end up in futility.
