The Chairman of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Ekiti State, Comrade Adeyemi John Adeniyi, has extended heartfelt commendation to the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Prof. Joseph Babatola Ayodele, for his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to students’ welfare and remarkable achievements in the growth and transformation of the institution.

The commendation followed the successful NAUS Ekiti State Campus and Institutional Engagement Tour to Ekiti State University, during which the association engaged with the university management, interacted with key stakeholders and undertook an extensive tour of critical academic and infrastructural facilities across the campus.

The tour, according to the NAUS Chairman, further reaffirmed that under the leadership of Prof. Ayodele, EKSU has continued to witness impressive progress in infrastructure development, academic excellence, digital innovation, campus security and student welfare, positioning the institution as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing and most student-friendly public universities.

NAUS Ekiti State particularly commended the Vice-Chancellor for his commitment to creating a conducive learning environment through the energising of transformers serving students’ residential communities, installation of a 24-hour solar power system, ongoing efforts to make hostel accommodation more affordable, construction of additional hostel facilities, and renovation of lecture theatres and other academic facilities across the university.

The association also appreciated the Vice-Chancellor’s proactive leadership in ensuring the successful implementation of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) programme within the university, particularly his commitment to providing guidance and support to beneficiaries regarding tuition payments and refund processes.

According to the association, the Vice-Chancellor’s transparent engagement with student leaders has continued to strengthen confidence and foster a healthy relationship between the university management and the student community.

Furthermore, the State Chairman applauded Prof. Ayodele’s continuous investment in digital transformation, including the planned deployment of over 200 laptop computers to strengthen the university’s ICT Centre and improve students’ access to technology-driven learning and research.

The association also expressed profound appreciation to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for facilitating the establishment of the ICT Experience Centre at Ekiti State University through the Renewed Hope Initiative in partnership with TETFund.

The landmark intervention, NAUS noted, represents a significant investment in digital education, innovation and human capital development, further positioning EKSU for excellence in the digital age.

Comrade Adeniyi equally acknowledged the Vice-Chancellor’s support and approval for the successful Campus and Institutional Engagement Tour, describing the gesture as another demonstration of his openness to dialogue, collaboration and constructive engagement with legitimate student leadership.

He noted that the visible achievements recorded under Prof. Ayodele’s administration were products of purposeful leadership, strategic partnerships, accountability and an unwavering commitment to institutional excellence.

“These milestones continue to inspire confidence among students, staff, alumni and other stakeholders while strengthening EKSU’s reputation as a centre of academic excellence,” he said.

The State Chairman therefore commended the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for their outstanding service to the university community and encouraged them to sustain the momentum of innovation, infrastructural renewal, academic excellence and student-centred governance.

He also called on members of the university community to continue supporting the management in its collective efforts to build a stronger, globally competitive and more prosperous Ekiti State University.
