Executive Chairman of Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Area, Hon. Sunday Owolabi Ajibade has promised to continue providing a purposeful leadership, as he appealed to aggrieved members across the LCDA to work with him to further move the council forward.
Hon. Ajibade gave the assurance in his ‘thank you’ statement made available to TopNewsng in Ado-Ekiti to the members of All Progressives Congress (APC), at the just concluded primary elections held on Saturday 7th October, 2023 where he emerged as the party candidate for December 2nd Local Government Election.
He applauded the unflinching support of APC leaders and members in Okemesi/Ido-Ile communities and Ekiti State who he said did not only believe in him, but trusted him with the post. He therefore promised not to betray the trust, saying he would diligently serve his people and further transform the LCDA.
While appealing to aggrieved members to put behind them all issues during the struggle, he called on them to join him to give a viral and purposeful leadership to the people of the LCDA, noting that better days ahead.
“I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the honour and trust bestowed on me to return as party candidate for Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA. I am humbled and excited for this prestigious position.
“I want to appreciate all party leaders, traditional rulers, all party members for the support given to me to emerge as the party candidate for the chairmanship position.
He observed that, though during political decision, it comes with different opinions and heart desires which might not collaborate with some people’s decisions, but I want to appeal to all aggrieved members to accept our party decision and let us unanimously work together to move our LCDA to a greater height.
“I am fully aware that the responsibilities of this position are enormous and require total commitment which by the grace of God and your unwavering support you have been given to the council so far, I am once again up to the task.
I extend my gratitude to all those involved in the decision-making process that gave me victory. I will not disappoint you.
The council Boss while expressing his appreciation to APC leaders, party members and the people of Okemesi/Ido-Ile communities for their massive support and show of love during the just concluded primaries of the party.
Hon. Ajibade, on Saturday, expressed his appreciation to God Almighty for the success recorded at the poll. He described it as the will of God and fervent prayer.
He thanked the leaders of the party for allowing him again and appreciated his opponents for their great understanding and call on all to support him in the task ahead.
The APC chieftain promised to stand firm and offer quality leadership and charge all members of APC to continue to maintain love, peace and orderliness that were experienced before the primary, he therefore thanked Ekiti Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for the fatherly role he played by sustaining peace in the party and promise to continue to be loyal to the governor and compliment his government at the grassroot with people oriented programmes.
He described his emergence as a results of goodwill and performance recorded in his first term and promise to do more in the second term says no victor, no vanquished in the contest.
