JUST IN: Court Adjourns Case of Kayode Ojo’s Supporter, Lustay Over Alleged Murder, Robbery

A State High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State has adjourned the case of Akogun Abayomi Olumide  popularly known as Lustay, an All Progressives Congress chieftain and former Chairman of the Ekiti State Microcredit and Enterprise Development,  over allegations bordering on conspiracy to commit robbery, armed robbery, attempted murder, unlawful possession of offensive weapons and malicious damage filed against him by the State Government
Recall that Akogun Lustay was sacked by Governor Biodun Oyebanji in August, 2025 over alleged gross misconduct and further arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on January 1, 2026 for those allegations.
He has consistently denied the allegations, describing them as trumped-up charges designed to silence him for refusing to abandon his political loyalty to a 2026 APC governorship Aspirant in Ekiti State, Engr. Kayode Ojo.
About four days ago, he was hospitalised for diabetes after being remanded at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre amid claims that he is being persecuted for his political stance.
Sources claimed that he was rushed to the prison clinic after his health deteriorated under what supporters described as harsh detention conditions for a diabetic patient.
During the Court proceedings, the Counsel to the State Government, Oluwaseun Olasanmi told the Court that she was not with the documents necessary to proceed with her argument.
The Defendant’s Lawyer, Adedayo Adewunmi pleaded with the Judge to adjourn the Court pending the time the Counsel would provide the documents.
In his ruling, Justice Omotosho urged the Counsel to provide the necessary documents on time and adjourned the case to 4th February, 2026 for further hearing.
It would be recalled that, some Loyalists of Engr. Kayode Ojo have continued to suffer unjust arrest, prosecution and Persecution in the State on trumped up charges, the development, the Engr. Kayode Ojo Team EKO has continued to describe as barbaric, uncouth,  uncivilised and unacceptable.
