JTB Boss, Owa-Ooye Hails Governor Oyebanji, EKIRS Chair Over Sterling Performance

The National Chairman, Joint Tax Board (JTB), Dr Zaach Adedeji has commended the giant strides of the governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for his developmental agenda in the state within the last three year in office.

Dr Adedeji, gave the commendations while speaking during the official commissioning of the new edifice (Revenue House) of the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Services (EKIRS) in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

The JTB boss who was flanked by dignitaries within and outside of the state, thanked Governor Oyebanji and the Chairman of Internal Revenue Services in Ekiti state, Mr Olatona Olaniran and his versatile team for the job well-done in the state.

According to him, public money is in individuals pocket, and unless we bring it into the public treasury, the government would have nothing to work with. He appealed to residents of the state to cooperate with the governor and the EKIRS team in order to bring more developmental projects to the state.

The JTB chair while describing the personality of governor Oyebanji, commended the him for his various infrastructure development and by bringing brilliant minds like Mr Olatona to champion the IGR of the state.

“I am delighted with the various infrastructure development of governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ekiti. Appointing Mr Olaniran as IGR boss of the state was commendable, we all can see that he is performing excellently.

“We should all be ready to support the governor as the development of the state is a collective responsibility of all and we must all play our parts diligently.” he said.

In a chat with newsmen, the Owa-Ooye of Okemesi-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty Oba Michael Gbadebo Adedeji, CON, applauded Governor Oyebanji for providing effective leadership for internal revenue service to thrive in the state noted that bringing a tax expert like Mr Olatona to Ekiti was apt and timely.

The former chairman of traditional rulers in Ekiti State, who was represented by the Oba-Aro of Okemesi, Chief Ademola Michael Oyeniyi, commended sons and daughters of the state for their voluntary compliance to tax payment because of the performance of the Governor whom he said has done the right thing by investing the people’s money on their welfare which helped in moving the internally generated revenue of the state high.

In his remarks, Governor Biodun Oyebanji hail the State’s Internal Revenue Services (EKIRS), led by its Chairman, Mr Olatona Olaniran for his outstanding performance, professionalism and strategic innovation.

The governor revealed that his administration had been able to gear up internally generated revenue of the state which serving as base for providing critical funding to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

The Governor commended President Bola Tinubu for proposing a far-reaching reform aimed at lifting the living standards of citizens which, according to him, is truly transformative and a collective fulfilment of the social contract that reinforces democratic governance for the existence of the country.

Oyebanji noted that, every projects his administration has been executing in the state as a result of the immense support received from the president.

He pledged his further readiness to continue assisting the EKIRS while calling on other well-meaning Ekiti indigenes home and diaspora to also put Ekiti in their plans, adding that east or west, home is the best!

Earlier in his welcome address, the EKIRS Executive Chairman, Mr. Olatona Olaniran, appreciated the governor for his unalloyed commitment towards the growth and the development of Ekiti.

The Okemesi born- tax expert described Governor Oyebanji as someone who always wanted the best for Ekiti people. He deeply appreciated and thanked all his staff for the great commitment.

Speaking further, the tax-master applauded all the Ekiti sons and daughters for their compliance and willing taxpayers.

He therefore praised leaders of various sectors for their continued commitment, support, and dedication to the growth of the internally generated revenue and the overall development of the state.

The EKIRS boss prayed that the Almighty God would continue to grant them the longevity and strengthen them for more successful tenure in office as governor.

He said the people of Ekiti really love the governor for his passion and love for Ekiti state and indeed his sacrifice to humanity in general.

“The people of Ekiti should please take a cue from governor Oyebanji and ensure this state take it’s rightful position among the community of the nation to compliment the efforts of our beloved and God-fearing governor Biodun Oyebanji”, Olatona, he said.
