Erelu Bisi Fayemi: A Quintessential First Lady Clock 60

On the 11th of May 2023, the Wife of the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Chief Mrs Olabisi-Adeleye Fayemi will clock 60 on earth.

Erelu Bisi Fayemi was born in Liverpool, England, on Tuesday, 11 June, 1963.

Mother General as she is fondly called by admirers is a British-Nigerian feminist activist, writer and policy advocate.

In 2001, she co-founded the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), the first Pan-African grant-making organisation.

She also serves as a United Nations (UN) Women Nigeria Senior Advisor, and was appointed as a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at King’s College, University of London in 2017.

She is a bonafide member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ekiti State Chapter and C.E.O of Above Whispers Limited, and runs an online community called Abovewhispers.com.
