The Ekiti State Government has taken swift action against environmental violations in Ado-Ekiti and Ikere, sealing off an unsanitary public toilet and investigating an unlawful disposal of fecal matter by a private company.

During a routine sanitary inspection, Environmental Health Officers from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources discovered a public toilet in Atikankan discharging faecal waste into public drainage, posing a serious risk of disease outbreak. The toilet, owned by Mr. Mallam Wudili, was immediately sealed by the ministry to prevent further environmental pollution.

In a related incident, a company identified as Mr. Packer was found to have illegally discharged faecal waste along Ikere Road, opposite Ajayi Polytechnic, on February 14, 2025. This was confirmed by a team of Environmental Health Officers from the ministry, who described the act as a grave public health hazard.
