It was like a drama a two suspected aged men were arrested by the security agencies of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti while attempting to allegedly steal a vehicle inside the campus.
TopNews gathered that the suspects were reported to have drove a car into the premises of the University to perpetrate the evil act.
According to reports, “while they were trying to open the door of the car intended to steal, they were seen through the CCTV by the security officers which eventually led to their arrest.
When contacted, one of the staff of the University (name withheld) said the suspects had been handed over to the police for further action.
Confirming the arrest, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, DSP Sunday Abutu said that the suspects have been handed to officers of the command to ascertain the level of their involvement in the act and other cases of car theft within and outside the institution.
His words: “They are suspected car thieves. They were arrested today at Ekiti State University and handed over to the police for further investigation.
“The CP has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to ascertain the level of their involvement in the act and other cases of car theft within and outside the institution”, the PPRO stated.
