Oguntoyinbo, who was a former chairman of Oye Local government between 2004 and 2007, said it is quite unfortunate that some chairmen are just enriching their pockets instead of delivering dividends of democracy to their people.

“It baffles me why they neglect their constitutional duties without any meaningful impact on their local government areas.

” The chairmen are far away from the grassroot and I want to urge them to give priority to the needs of their people over their selfish needs,” he said.

EKSEPA boss advised the state government to mandate each Councils to set up Local Government Advisory Committee to advise chairmen on their projects initiatives and mode of execution.
