Ekiti 2026: “I’ll Succeed Governor Oyebanji, APC Female Guber Aspirant Boast

….Says Ekiti deserves better life

The only female governorship aspirants in the 2026 election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mrs Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, has said that she is going to succeed the incumbent governor of the state, Mr Biodun Oyebanji come 2026 governorship election in Ekiti.

She said that her ambition to become the next governor of the state is gathering a huge momentum daily, and that she had in his back people that matters when it comes to the coming next guber election in the state.

The APC stalwart gave this assurance in an exclusive telephone interview with 24News Radio and Television in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.

Abimbola hinted that she had studied the trend of events for a long period preparing for the race, noting that when she decided to come out to declare for the governorship election, she knew that the time had come for her to emerge victoriously.

 

“I’m ready to invest in Ekiti people through empowerment and I will ensure the fund meant for local governments gets to them as at when due. I have studied what is going on in Ekiti and I know where the shoes pinches. We don’t need to deceive ourselves, people at the local levels are suffering”.

The Iyin Ekiti journalist turned-politician disclosed that she will make sure that she turns the Cargo Airport to a full functioning one of elected the governor.

“I’m battle ready and I’m fully ready for the job because Ekiti people deserve a better life, good infrastructures that can stand the test of time. I can assure you that Ekiti money won’t be squandered under the watch as I’m ready to deliver on my promises”.

Speaking on the good governance, the governorship aspirant said she had what it takes to deliver during the primary election.

“Since the inception of democracy in Ekiti, we have not seen much development in in our dear state. The state is under-developed in all sectors. I have been following the events over the years. If the present administration has done well, I wouldn’t have come out to contest nor challenge the governor.

“I can be bought and I have every right to challenge and contest against the incumbent governor come 2026, so as to bring hope back to people for more developmental strides and let them know what the good governance is all about”.

Dr Abimbola said her priority will the welfare of Ekiti people and to ensure every nooks and crannies of the state get dividends of democracy through projects that will have positive impacts on people.
