Daramola, Olatunbosun grace Ekiti NUJ Congress, appeal to Governor Oyebanji for more support

The Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, Taiwo Olatunbosun, and former National Assembly member, Bimbo Daramola, have urged media practitioners to continue supporting Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration.

The duo spoke separately when they attended the February edition of the Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists presided over by the Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi.

Addressing media practitioners, Ekiti State Information Commissioner, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun acknowledged the strong bond between the state government and media, saying Oyebanji values this partnership.

He emphasized the governor’s commitment to journalists’ welfare, urging them to reciprocate with responsible journalism.

On his part, Bimbo Daramola described journalism as the eyes and ears of the people whose impact on shaping the society cannot be qualified praising journalists’ positive impact on the state.

He pledged his support for their welfare, urging them to uphold professionalism and fairness.

He also backed Oyebanji’s re-election bid, citing achievements in health, education, infrastructure, and human capital development.

Commenting on the meeting, the chairman of NUJ,comrade Kayode Babatuyi hail leaders and members of the Union including all the chapels in Ekiti State for their support. He pledged his continue commitment to take the Union to next level that everyone would be proud of.

Also in attendance includes the Vice President of NUJ B-zone, comrade Ronke Samo Afebioye, former chairman of the Union and Technical Advisor to the Governor of Ekiti State on Public Communications (Political), Dr Tai Oguntayo, and the immediate past chairman of NUJ, comrade Lion Rotimi Ojomoyela among others.
