Bayelsa LGA Polls: BYSIEC Issues Certificate Of Return To Winners

The Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC), has on Monday issued certificates of return to winners of the April 6 Local Government Area elections.

The handing of the certificates of returns to the 8 Local Government Council Chairmen, and their Vice, all of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), took place at the Earnest Ikoli, NUJ, Press centre, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

Chairman of BYSIEC, Dr. Peter Singabele, the solemn event was in fulfillment of the commission’s mandate to issue certificates of return which is the last step on the part of BYSIEC in the 2024 election.

He said, “Once you have your certificate and sworn in, you can now operate as elected Chairmen of your various council areas as the third tiers of government setup at the grassroots.

Speaking on behalf of the elected Chairmen, Chairman-elect, Yenagoa LGA, Hon. Bulodisiye Ndiwara, thanked the BYSIEC for the successful and smooth conclusion of the exercise.

He commended the party for finding them worthy of using the platform to win the election, congratulating party supporters and Bayelsans for voting them.

The only female Chairman-elect of Sagbama LGA, Mrs. Alice Allen Tangi, said with her at the aim of affairs governance at the grassroots will become more better and spread across all communities in the area.

She further stated that her impact will be felt in agriculture, human capacity development and the funding of education in Sagbama LGA will be her priority.

“There are so many opportunities that we will benefit as a people, I will ensure we tap into them and make worth while. Under my tenure, the girl child will have a voice in the society. We will encourage agriculture by making everyone go into farming, and ensure our farmers are supported adequately”.
