It was another impressive turn out on Saturday at the monthly BAO WALK event held in Gbonyin Local Government area.
Participants comprising political class, artisans.Youth Corps Members and Okada riders defied their ages and status.
Starting from Ode Grammar School with almost one hundred participants who walked amid excitement, the April edition of the BAO Walk was another successful outing like the previous editions held in Ikole and Ijero Local Government areas.
The convener of the BAO Walk, Hon Bimbo Daramola popularly known as Congressman or Bimbo Ekiti in company of some political leaders in Gbonyin Local Government area including the Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Hon Femi Awe, Current and former Gbonyin Local Government chairmen, Legislator representing Gbonyin Local Government, Mrs Teju Okuyiga , former House of Representatives member, Bamidele Faparusi and a host of other leaders all came out in their number to sweat it out during the BAO Walk.
They all lauded the former House of Representative member, Hon Bimbo Daramola who initiated the event with an assurance that efforts geared towards sustaining will be intensified.
The various benefits of the initiative were highlighted as the participants opined that it was multi dimensional and rewarding socially, economically, politically and most importantly health wise.
Shortly after rounding off the walk at the Gbonyin Local Government Secretariat in Ode Ekiti, the convener, Hon Bimbo Daramola thanked all participants urging them to prioritize their health through regular walk and keep fit exercise.
He said the BAO Walk has numerous benefits ranging from boosting the health conditions of participants, social interaction and political synergy.
Hon Daramola while giving out food items like rice, semo, spaghetti , groundnut oil and lots more to the people equally surprised some lucky participants in the BAO Walk with some special gifts like brand new smart wristwatches, training canvass among others.
He said all the gestures which received applause and commendation from the people were aimed at galvanizing support for governor Biodun Oyebanji whom he said had surpassed the expectations of Ekiti people at home and abroad in term of performances and good governance.
Earlier, fitness instructors had led the participants through some keep fit exercise and aerobics in a bid to keep their body and health in good shape.
The participants also seized the occasion to echo their support for governor Biodun Oyebanji to contest for a second term in office.
They noted that the governor has performed well in all spheres of life in his first term in office describing him as a humble achiever.
