Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, has congratulated the Governor of the state, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji on his 56th birthday; saying that the Governor has lived an impactful and inspiring life.
In a statement made available to TopNews in Ado-Ekiti by the brannew Chairman of the Union, comrade Kayode Babatuyi and his secretary, comrade O’Seun Ogunsakin, the NUJ described the governor as a special gift to Ekiti State as he had within one year of his administration stabilized the polity by running an inclusive government that allows Ekiti indigenes regardless of political affiliations to have input in the governance process.
The Union which hailed the governor for completing all the projects of his predecessor in line with the state transition law said Oyebanji has consistently demonstrated that governance is about delivering quality service and ensuring better life for the people.
It added that it was impressed that the governor, for the second time since taking over as the State’s Chief Executive, has not celebrated his birthday with pomp and pageantry but has always channelized resources to bettering the lives of the less privileged, especially people living with disabilities (PWDs).
“The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ekiti State felicitates Governor Biodun Oyebanji who has been a good friend of the media in the State. We are impressed that the governor has successfully carried along Ekiti people in governance by engaging them regularly to get their input into the governance process.
The Union added that, the media, as a watchdog, has been following up on the activities of the governor and we can only say that the people-centred policies and programmes are evidences that Oyebanji is a special breed and blessing to the State.
Also, the Union however on behalf of all journalists in Ekiti State, celebrated his government and urged him not to relent in making life more comfortable for the citizenry.
