As part of the buildup towards AFCON 2024 competition, the Super Eagles of Nigeria has showed no mercy as they hammered a local Dubai team 12-0 in a friendly match at their Abu Dhabi training camp on Sunday.
The match was played ahead of preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
In the match which was played behind a closed door, the Eagles were unstoppable from the start, scoring six goals in the first half, with Jose Peseiro’s men displaying a strong appetite for goals.
The second half was no different, as the Eagles continued to dominate and impress with their skills and teamwork.
Ademola Lookman was the star of the show, netting four goals, while Victor Osimhen added two more.
Moses Simon and Umar Sadiq, who came off the bench, also scored a brace each, while the hapless Dubai team conceded two own goals.
The Super Eagles, who have won the Africa Cup of Nations three times, will face the Syli National of Guinea in another friendly match at Bani Yas Stadium on Monday 8.
