The League of Veteran Journalists in Ekiti State has appealed to all stakeholders particularly politicians and other partakers in the forthcoming Ekiti State Governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 20th June, 2026 to avoid violence and ensure free and fair election.
The veteran Journalists appeal was contained in a communique issued during their monthly meeting held at the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ Press Centre, Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, 17th June, 2026.
The League, under the Chairmanship of Prince Kayode Oni observed that Ekiti has remained politically peaceful for a long time and would want the trend to continue stressing that all eyes are on the people of the state .
The veterans also used the occasion to call on the the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the governorship election according to the rules without bias.
