Ahead of this year’s National SWAN Day 2025, the body of Sports journalists in Ekiti State has lined up a couple of programs to commemorate the occasion.
The main event billed to take place is the visit of SWAN members to three selected Higher Institutions in the State namely Afe Babalola University, Venite University and Crown Polytechnic.
According to a statement made available to TopNews in Ado-Ekiti by the SWAN chairman, Qozeem Oladapo on Tuesday says the initiative was borne out of the desire to identify with the schools on their efforts at developing Sports especially among the students.
SWAN,Ekiti State noted that the three selected Higher Institutions have invested impressively in Sports facilities and organizing of Sports events which have gone a long way at positively engaging the students in extra curricular activities.
While reiterating the readiness of SWAN to consistently publicize Sporting activities in the various Higher Institutions across the State, the body of Sports journalists commended the commitment of the Managements of the three Higher Institutions towards Sports development .
The Association stated that different programs involving other Higher Institutions and educational institutions will be organized soon.
Meanwhile , the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State will also reel out names of eminent personalities who have been nominated as Grand Patrons, Patrons, Grand Patronesses and Patronesses.
Also to be unveiled are the SWAN Ambassadors and SWAN Royal fathers, all in Ekiti State.
